The COVID-19 pandemic has changed many facets of our lives – we work from home, we shop online, dining out is a distant memory, immigration has virtually ceased, public transport operates well below capacity, there is a race for space and single family home sales are at a high not seen in this century. What if some or all of these patterns don't revert back to pre-pandemic conditions? What is the impact? What do we as an industry need to be considering?     Dave Wilkes is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Building Industry and Land Development Association, a position he assumed in January of 2018.

    Mr. Wilkes has more than 25 years of senior management experience. Most recently he served as the Senior Vice President Government Relations & Grocery Division at the Retail Council of Canada. He began his career with the Government of Ontario.

    Dave is a graduate of Ryerson University He is an active volunteer serving on the Housing Committee of the Black North Initiative and previously on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Curling Association George Brown College.
